Rocks at both ends, especially east near the castle. Rips on bigger swells. Rocky reef at low tide on western side.
Local Tips
Best at mid tide on a clean S-SW swell with N winds offshore. Western end has better peaks. Castle headland shelters from westerlies. Less exposed than Freshwater West — good option when FW is too heavy. Spectacular setting with medieval castle overlooking the bay.
Getting There
Signposted from B4585 off the A4139. Car park above the beach with short walk down.
Parking: Pay and display above the beach. Reasonable spaces but can fill on busy summer days.
Facilities: Toilets at car park. Castle tea room nearby. No surf hire — nearest shops in Tenby (6 miles).
Crowds
Moderate. Quieter than Freshwater West. Summer weekends bring more crowds.
