Freshwater West
Freshwater West is Pembrokeshire's most powerful beach break, producing heavy, hollow waves that attract experienced surfers. Facing south-west, the beach is fully exposed to Atlantic swells and can handle enormous surf. Strong rips make it dangerous for inexperienced swimmers. No lifeguards. The beach was used as a filming location for Harry Potter. Best with an easterly wind for clean offshore conditions.
Conditions look mixed today with moderate onshore wind and a dropping swell period through the afternoon. Best bet is the early morning push before the wind picks up. Tomorrow looks cleaner with a slight shift in direction.
