Scarborough North Bay is Yorkshire's primary surf spot, a sandy beach between the castle headland and the Spa. Faces north-east and picks up North Sea swells, producing fun waves for all levels. Best at mid tide. Less consistent than the Northumberland coast but more accessible. The castle headland provides some shelter from northerly winds. Good facilities and easy parking nearby.

Car parks along the seafront. Direct beach access from promenade.

Parking: Pay & display along North Bay. Cheaper parking further from beach.

Facilities: Toilets, Sea Life Centre, cafes. Scarborough town centre nearby.
