Solid middle-ground option on the North Yorkshire coast. Best on a clean N or NNE groundswell with W or SW wind offshore. Mid tide is the sweet spot. Northern end tends to have better banks. After storms, sand shifts dramatically.
Getting There
Easy access from the village. Park on the seafront road or car park and walk onto the beach. 2 miles north of Whitby on the A174.
Parking: Free roadside parking along the seafront. Small pay car park in village. Spaces go quickly on sunny weekends.
Facilities: Pubs in village, Wits End cafe popular with surfers. Toilets in village. No surf hire. Whitby 5 minutes away.

Low to moderate. Far quieter than Saltburn. Small, friendly local crew.
