Widemouth Bay
Widemouth Bay is a wide, flat beach south of Bude on the north Cornwall/Devon border. Faces north-west and catches plenty of Atlantic swell. The gently sloping beach produces mellow, forgiving waves ideal for beginners and longboarders. Works on all tides. Multiple surf schools operate here in summer. The south end gets more powerful waves on bigger swells.
Conditions look mixed today with moderate onshore wind and a dropping swell period through the afternoon. Best bet is the early morning push before the wind picks up. Tomorrow looks cleaner with a slight shift in direction.
