Watergate Bay
Watergate Bay is a dramatic two-mile stretch of sand just north of Newquay. The bay faces north-west and catches any Atlantic swell going, producing consistent waves across a range of tides. Popular with surf schools and intermediate surfers. The Extreme Academy offers kitesurfing and other water sports. Works on all tides but can get powerful at low tide on bigger swells.
Conditions look mixed today with moderate onshore wind and a dropping swell period through the afternoon. Best bet is the early morning push before the wind picks up. Tomorrow looks cleaner with a slight shift in direction.
