Hazards & Safety

Rocks at low tide on both sides. Rips on bigger swells near headlands. Crowded in summer with swimmers.

Local Tips

Needs a decent S-SW swell to get in as the bay is sheltered by Gower headlands. Best at mid to high tide. NW-N winds are offshore. Works when north-facing beaches are blown out. If flat, check Langland next door.

Getting There

Signposted from the B4593 south of Mumbles. Short walk from car park down steps.

Parking: Pay and display above the beach. Limited spaces, fills quickly on good days.

Facilities: Toilets, cafe, small shop. Surf hire in summer. Lifeguarded May-September.

Crowds

Busy in summer with beachgoers and surf schools. Best waves on autumn swells when crowds thin.
